Instruments
Questions regarding our instruments
Nail scissors are small, stable scissors with short, curved blades.
They are used to shorten and form fingernails and toenails.
Nail scissors with an extra sharp tip are also called combination scissors. These are used to cut nails, make fine corners and care for the cuticles.
A smooth, even operation and a good cut distinguish a well processed pair of scissors.
Cuticle scissors are small, fine scissors with curved, thin and pointed blades, which are used to remove loose cuticle skin.
Cuticle scissors with a special ground tip (tower tip) have a particularly fine, thin blade.
In order not to damage the thin tip, cuticle scissors should only be used for their intended purpose.
Nail nippers are used for easy shortening and forming even for tough nails.
Different sizes demonstrate the wide range of manicure or pedicure applications.
A cuticle nipper is a strong instrument for clean removal of cuticle skin.
There are various cutting lengths available for different cutting habits.
One of the most important and commonly used manicure instrument is the nail file. It is available in a variety of versions, materials, sizes and forms.
The tips are used as a nail cleaner while a cuticle pusher is often integrated in the plastic handle.
Types of nail files
Sapphire file:
The basic material of a sapphire-coated nail file is made from a hardened file steel sheet in which sharp edged grinding material is embedded.
Sand paper file:
The sand paper file is a product for a short useful life. The file consists of layers of paper, cardboard or thin sheets of wood.
Glass file:
The glass file convinces with its extremely long durability and it combines 3 nail care instruments in one:
Nail file, cuticle pusher, nail cleaner – made of doublesided grounded and extra-hardened glass.
The micro-grinding helps to avoid splittering and ripping of the nails.
There is a differentiation between the usage, material and design of tweezers.
Tweezers are divided as per various purposes, variety of materials and different designs. In manicure they are classified according to their functional part (mouth)
Types of tweezers
- pointed: to remove splinters
- oblique: to shape eyebrows or to remove hairs
- straight: to shape eyebrows or to remove hairs
- angled: exerts a particularly high pressure and has a very firm grip
Tweezers are produced carefully on the mouth – the inner sides being ground to grip hair. Tweezers with a straight or tapered mouth should be equally spaced and the tip is evenly developed on tipped tweezers.
Fitted with a replaceable blade – a callus remover should especially used by professionals. It is efficient in use on thick callus layers on the soles of the feet.
The replaceable blade should be replaced after every treatment, the device should be cleaned thoroughly. Thus will ensure a hygienic operation.

Gold plated implements are manufactured out of hardened steel, then nickel plated and afterwards gold plated.
Gold plated implements are characterised by a particularly valuable optics.
All functional criteria are similar to those of the nickel plated implements.
Mat implements are manufactured out of hardened steel and nickel plated thereafter.
Subsequently, the implements will be sand-radiated.
Thus, they receive a timeless-attractive surface, as well as an intensified corrosion protection.
